Set in the heart of Morris County, New Jersey sits Randolph Township, a community of over 24,000 residents on 21 square miles of land. The area of Morris County that Randolph encompasses has been designated half rural and half suburban by the New Jersey State Planning Commission. This township has an interesting lineage from being inhabited by the Lenni Lenape Native Americans, settled by Quakers, and then served as a supply point for George Washington's army during their winter in nearby Jockey Hallow.
The Randolph Township Schools educate children from kindergarten through twelfth grade, as well as special-needs preschoolers. There are four elementary schools in this district including Center Grove Elementary School, Fernbrook Elementary School, Ironia Elementary School and Shongum Elementary School. These schools educate more than 2,500 students within the Randolph township limits. Randolph Middle School serves 1,350 students in grades six through eight and Randolph High School serves 1,660 students in grades nine through twelve. The main campus of the County College of Morris is also located in Randolph Township. There is also a private school in Randolph, The Hebrew Academy of Morris County is a coeducational Jewish day school serving approximately 225 children in nursery school through grade eight.
Route 10, County Route 513 (Dover-Chester Road) and County Route 617 (Sussex Turnpike) pass through the Township of Randolph while Route 24 and Interstates 287, 80 and 280 are located nearby for easy access to commuting routes all through the northern part of New Jersey.
